About this event

Join us in welcoming Sonia Potié to a Living/Dying Project Speaker Series conversation designed to help you discover and cultivate your unique spiritual expression.

Sonia Potié is passionate about cutting through distortions and dogma to reveal the essence of spiritual wisdom. Formally trained and empowered to teach in the Vajrayana tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, her deepest interest lies in uncovering the shared heart of all spiritual traditions. She advocates for critical thinking and, when grounded in clarity about the essence of spirituality, for taking practice outside the box and embracing one’s own unique expression of spiritual life. Sonia loves facilitating paradigm shifts that help people adapt to the realities of being human and come to terms with life as it is. She offers one-on-one psycho-spiritual counselling and mentorship, as well as group teachings, workshops, and retreats.

Her approach has been shaped by her experience as a mother of four, a doula supporting women in childbirth, a care aide in long-term and palliative care, and a teacher and practitioner of yoga, cultivating an embodied understanding of somatic psychology. It is also informed by her current studies in psychiatric nursing and, most importantly, by her own healing and spiritual journey.

When not distilling the essence of wisdom, Sonia can usually be found juggling parenthood, work, and studies—tackling an impossibly long to-do list, washing dishes, doing computer work, or chasing her two-year-old around the rink while trying to watch her twelve-year-old play hockey. In the midst of it all, she cherishes walks with her husband, quality time with her kids, writing songs, and sipping lattes.
