“Quick, now, here, now, always—
a condition of complete simplicity
(costing not less than everything)”
—T. S. Eliot, Little Gidding
We invite you to join the first iteration of the Living/Dying Project Book Club where we’ll gather in community to explore texts that illuminate the path of conscious living and dying.
Our first book is Old Age, a text on aging wisely, by the Jungian analyst, Helen M. Luke, who reflects on life’s final journeys described in Homer’s Odyssey, Shakespeare’s King Lear and The Tempest, and T. S. Eliot’s Little Gidding.
Through these late-life works of Homer, Shakespeare, and Eliot, Luke reveals aging not as decline, but as a sacred passage of release and deepening insight. In the words of King Lear, the old are “God’s spies,” called to seek the mystery of things. Together, we’ll read and discuss Old Age through the lens of our own lives and the ultimate transition we each face.
Tuesdays from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM PST via Zoom
Exchange: $80 for the full series.* All proceeds benefit the mission and programs of the Living/Dying Project, keeping our offerings free and accessible to all.
*Scholarships are available—no one will be turned away for lack of funds. To inquire, email [email protected].

Virginia “Jinn” Fauvre has been involved in the Living/Dying Project since its inception in the late 1980’s. She finds wisdom and inspiration through mythology, literature and art. She has led workshops in art as soul work, and brought her art practice into various spiritual venues. In mid-life she received a master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology where she explored art as a pathway of consciousness, and grief and death as opportunities for awakening.
All across the country, organizations like ours are facing unprecedented funding challenges. To sustain our work and keep our lines open to everyone who calls on us, we must raise $150,000 this giving season.
