Volunteer with a Client
Even if you do not live locally, you can still become a Living/Dying Project Volunteer that works with our clients. We have volunteers all around North America as well as Europe, Scandinavia, and Australia.
Volunteers must attend the Healing at the Edge Online Course (including the follow-up zoom session) or an in-person workshop that’s pre-approved for this work. The material presented here provides the fundamental understanding and practices used to serve those dealing with end-of-life issues under the Living/Dying Project model. Although clients are not guaranteed, we do our best to match a volunteer when a client becomes available (please see our FAQ page).
The course will nonetheless provide a deep dive into the core work of the Living/Dying Project and anyone who takes it will benefit from its practices, including how to offer conscious and compassionate support to people experiencing a challenging time. If applicable, CEU credits for psychologists, therapists, social workers, nurses, and acupuncturists are available depending on which course you take.
Volunteers can attend a free every-other-month online support group. This group will support your inner spiritual work as well as support you in working with any clients dealing with a life-threatening illness, grief, or caregiving issues.
Volunteers are an integral part of the Living/Dying Project. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, or disability. All we ask is that all engage in this work with an open heart.
Other Volunteer Needs
We also welcome efforts to spread the word about the Living/Dying Project in your local community. We always want more clients that volunteers could work with and you can help by letting folks know about the Project by giving them our website or encouraging them to follow us on social media, subscribe to our podcast, or sign up for our email newsletter. Lastly, your prayers and well wishes for the Project are deeply appreciated.
